Officer Michael Plunkard has been a member of the Johnstown Police Department since 2003.
He began his career in Law Enforcement in 2002 with Conemaugh Township Police ( Somerset Co) and Stonycreek Township Police, where he is currently employed on a part-time basis.
Officer Plunkard is currently assigned to the Patrol Division and a member of the Johnstown/Richland S.E.R.T. Team Entry Division

Officer Plunkard is a graduate of the Greater Johnstown Municipal Police Academy and Mount Aloysius College where obtained a degree in Criminology.
He has received training from the Pennsylvania State Police as a Municipal Police Firearms Instructor, (HK) Heckler & Koch Defense Training Group as a submachine gun operator and instructor.
Also has trained in National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) basic S.W.A.T. and numerous inhouse training sessions with the JPD and other Law Enforcement agencies.
