Officer Michael Kanuch has been a member of the Johnstown Police Dept. since 2005. Prior to joining JPD he worked for the Dept. Of Public Welfare in a juvenile treatment facility as a counselor and supervisor.
He is also employed as a part-time officer for Nanty Glo Boro police dept. and a graduate of the Greater Johnstown Municipal Police Academy.
Officer Kanuch graduated cumlaude with a bachelors degree in criminology and a minor in pyschology from Mount Aloysious College

Officer Kanuch is assigned to the patrol division and is a member of the K9 Corps. where he is teamed up with his partner "Xander" A 2 1/2 year old German Shepard who will be trained in narcotics detection and patrol use.
