SUPPORT STAFF
The Department's "Secretary to the Chief" and the "Chief Clerk" are an essential part of Johnstown Police Department. They are responsible for overseeing the personnel files, purchasing orders, ordering departmental supplies, SERT equipment, daily logs, maintaining overtime and sick/vacation days. Also keeping track of over 100 vendors accounts, maintaining the payroll for the police officers and records clerks, scheduling meetings for the Chief and Capt., yearly reports and stats for City Council meetings. They also work with the District Attorney's office and other government agencies for scheduling officers for court hearings, trials and other police related functions. Of course they answer incoming calls and help the general public. The secretaries have backgrounds in clerical, accounting, and legal fields. |
