News & Announcements

Happy Retirement

The Officers of the Johnstown Police wish to offer BEST WISHES and HAPPY RETIREMENT to Officer George Stevens.
George will be missed with his witty comebacks and his ever present smile.
He was well respected by his fellow officers as well as the citizens in the communities which he served.
George served 21 Years With JPD and had 17 years with the Lower Yoder Police Dept. before merging services with the City.
Good Luck George!

Smooth Operator Program

JPD will again participate in the Smooth Operator Program.
The Smooth Operator is funded by the Federal and State Governments to crack down on "Agressive" drivers.
Agressive Drivers are those who speed, drive careless, fail to stop for Red Lights and Stop Signs or any driver which endangers those of us who follow the rules and laws on the roadways.
Deciding to go through that red light to save approx. 2 minutes until it changes, could cost you $108 and 3 points.
Please slow down, obey the laws and keep everyone safe.

You can pick up an application packet from the City Manager's office starting on April 28, 2008.
